Sustainability

With our understanding of sustainability, we want to create the basis for our corporate success. This enables us to meet environmental, social and regulatory requirements and make our contribution to the sustainable management of resources.

In this context, Mair maintains a constant and open dialog with all interest groups and evaluates all sustainability aspects of the stakeholders. Based on a double materiality analysis, the impacts, performance and key areas of action were evaluated and prioritized. The results of the materiality analysis form the basis for our sustainability principles.

Our Code of Sustainability addresses the identified sustainability aspects and describes our sustainable actions. We are convinced that economically strong and successful companies are an important support for achieving effective environmental protection, a social balance with greater consideration of human rights and a responsible culture.

• Sustainable production: We manufacture with precision equipment, use returnable packaging and separate production waste professionally.
• Energy-efficient insulation: Our 1,600 m² building in Schwaig is a timber construction. We have installed thermal insulation made of wood fiber insulation materials without a vapor barrier. This allows the building to breathe like a functional piece of clothing.
• Solar power: An integrated photovoltaic system also ensures that CO2 emissions are avoided.
• Heat recovery: So that our building does not have to be additionally heated, a forced ventilation system is used throughout production. This works with a rotary heat exchanger and simultaneous heat recovery from the energy-intensive devices (e.g. soldering systems).
• Bus system: The entire company building is controlled automatically via a bus system (EIB). This allows us to use the power of the sun when required. After closing time, all electricity in production, the warehouse and the office is automatically switched off.
